Can you take over your number plate for your car subscription? And what about the insurance? The car subscription is becoming increasingly popular as a simple, flexible and affordable alternative to buying and leasing a car. Once you have found your car at Carvolution and configured your subscription, you can get started straight away. However, at the beginning there are often some questions regarding insurance, service, number plates and more. Here you can find out everything you need to know before you start your car subscription.
Insurance
The car subscription includes both third-party and fully comprehensive insurance. You no longer need your current car insurance. There is no deductible for third party and partially comprehensive insurance. You can set your own deductible for fully comprehensive damage between CHF 250, CHF 500 and CHF 1000.
Service & tyre garage
The Carvolution partner network includes over 600 tyre and service garages. At the beginning of your subscription, you choose your tyre partner and Carvolution sends the second set of tyres there. This way you can plan your changes flexibly. If a service is due, you can make an appointment at any official garage of your car brand. The costs for tyre change & service are of course included in the subscription.
Number plates
Carvolution will register your new car in your canton of residence. Unfortunately, you cannot take over your existing number plate. However, if you want to keep the plate, you can deposit it at the road traffic office and access it again later.
You can also apply for a number plate for bicycle trailers (red number plate). We will be happy to order this for you. It's best to let us know in advance so that we can enclose the numbers when you hand over your car. Otherwise we will send them by post. The cost of a red number plate is not included in the monthly subscription price and amounts to CHF 40.
Parking and residents' parking spaces
With your Carvolution car, you can of course apply for a resident's permit and park in the blue zone.
