Swiss startups are appealing. This year, the Top 100 Swiss Startup Awards once again honoured the 100 best startups. One year after Carvolution was founded, we are happy to be ranking 31st amongst the top Swiss startups.
Drone technology and Medtech at the forefront
The spotlight in the startup scene is usually on young tech companies in the categories of Medtech, Biotech and Fintech, but also on engineering and ICT. This year was no different. Flyability took first place (image: Venturelab). The startup company from Western Switzerland builds indoor drones for areas that are difficult to access. Second place went to the Medtech company Lunaphore, which offers automated solutions in the field of tissue diagnostics. The third placed startup is Ava, also from the Medtech sector and specialised in tracking and improving the reproductive health of women. We congratulate the three winners and all other top 100 startups.
Carvolution shines in the Mobility and Online categories
Carvolution was also nominated again this year and secured a great 31st overall place in the midst of the ETH- and EPFL-dominated landscape. In particular, we are very proud of our ranking in our most important business areas. We achieved 2nd place in the Mobility category and 3rd place in the Best Online Startups category.
The Top 100 Swiss Startup Awards are always a good indicator for tracking of megatrends. The rapid growth of Carvolution, for example, shows that digitalisation in the form of a subscription economy is also finding its way into the mobility sector.
Successful thanks to a strong team and the right investors
Award Night or not, what really made our rapid progress possible is our team, which by now has grown to 22 people. We would like to thank our anchor investors, who have been standing by us with advice and assistance since the beginning. Since our foundation we have now put several hundred cars on the road. Our venture partner Redalpine has accelerated this growth and made new paths possible. An important part of Carvolution is also our customers, who form our proof of concept and place their trust in us. We look forward to continuing to put our foot down and making up a few places at the next TOP 100 Swiss Startup Awards.
