Carvolution, the Swiss market leader for car subscriptions, and the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO) are jointly launching Switzerland's largest pilot phase for autonomous driving on public roads. By the end of 2024, thousands of vehicles with state-of-the-art automation systems will be in use, providing important insights into the safety and efficiency of autonomous driving.

Shaping the future of mobility together

Carvolution and the FEDRO are convinced that autonomous driving can make an important contribution to sustainable and safe mobility in the future. The pilot phase is an important step in this direction, allowing the technology to be tested and further developed under real-life conditions.

The pilot phase will investigate three aspects of autonomous driving:

  • Safety: The vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art safety systems that are constantly monitored.
  • Connectivity: The vehicles communicate with each other and with the infrastructure in order to optimise traffic flow and increase safety.
  • Acceptance: The pilot phase will also analyse the acceptance of autonomous driving among the population.

This test is an important milestone on the road to autonomous driving in Switzerland. Carvolution and the FEDRO are looking forward to working together and gaining valuable insights from the pilot phase. The first test report is expected to be published as early as November 2024.
